Note:- The book – The Moons of Jupiter by Kristin Leutwyler (Staff Editor at Scientific American Magazine, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics), published by W. W. Norton and Co, NY and London, 2003, in the Table on page 232 lists The Four “Inner Moons”, and then lists The Four Large “Galilean” Satellites. All the other Jupiter satellites are listed in this table as “Irregulars”. This implies that The “Inner Satellites” and The “Galilean Satellites” of Jupiter are regarded as Jupiter’s Eight “Regular” Satellites. Here is a scan of the relevant table:-
